blocked websites

Aftert update to 10.3.2225
All browser, and web site blocked.
Only after web shield disable, I can access the internet.
I did not touch any setting parameters.
Before update, no problem.

Even avast’s account can connect to internet.
Please help!

Workaround: Disable HTTPS-Scanning in the web shield.

Thank Asyn.

The HPPTS option clearing not solve the problem.

  • Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Vista x64 sp2 internet security 10.3.2225
installed AV; microsoft Av program of Windows
Before update to 2225, all thing was good.

Is it Windows Defender or something else…?

Windows Defender.
Before 2015.10.3.2225 version, no problem.

  1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

The reinstallation method after Avast clearing does not solve the problem.

Might be a bug, wait for one of the devs and/or submit a ticket: https://support.avast.com/Tickets/Submit

Sounds like a firewall problem blacking avast. ???

I’m having a similar issue. The Windows Firewall only helps you accessing the internet. Then there’s the issue with contents not loaded on websites. The only way to workaround this issue is to disable all shields.

Edit: I’m finding a couple of threads about internet/websites blocked created recently. Like I said, Avast was originally slowing down and then blocking my internet until I added it in the Windows Firewall allowed list. Even after I added it to the list, it would now rarely slow the internet down but it would block some contents to be loaded on websites.

Is you problem related to HTTPS web addresses ??? If so, disable (uncheck) the https scanning in the Webshield settings.

I did. Still having same issues.

More information is needed. Some example, screenshots. Remember, we aren’t sitting in front of your computer.

Sounds like the same problem from the last update we did. Took a while but Avast seems to fix the problem

I don’t know how a screenshot would make a difference; it would just show a website not loading correctly. Like I said, Avast was slowing down and then blocking my internet until I added it in the Windows Firewall allowed list. Even after I added it to the list, it would now rarely slow the internet down but it would block some contents to be loaded on websites.

Yep, similar to what used to happen as listed here (internet blocked) but I’m on Avast Free:

You might want to clear out all the Avast exceptions in the Windows Firewall rules, reboot and allow the firewall to ask permission again.
At that point allow the various Avast components access through the firewall.

I did and still no difference. Avast is even blocking legit sites such as outlook.com. I had to put the website in the Exclusions so that it can load.
