Blue screen after running scan...

Hey guys. So I’m in trouble. I ran the Avast boot scan on a friends computer. It must have deleted a file that was supposed to stay there. Anyways, I ran the scan and it found 29 infected files. I then logged back in and after about a minute, I got the blue screen. I then logged back in in safe mode and it did the same. After that, I logged back in normal mode and it would only let me go into the administrator account and it said there was an error with the other accounts. On the administrators account, a bubble popped up that said, “Failed to connect to windows service, etc… This prevents limited users from logging to the system,” so I think that’s why I can’t log into the other accounts. I then re-started and it gave me the blue screen again. I need to at least log into the other accounts because it is imperative that I try to save some of their pictures. Anyways, here’s some of the laptops info from what I could check:

Acer
Windows Vista (32 bit)-couldn’t check what service pack it was

Any help is appreciated.

If you can log into the admin’s account you should be able to access the files that other users have. In Vista, open an explorer.exe window and pind the path ‘C:\Users’ and then find thier pictures. Also, if you deleted some important system file(s) I can’t help you too much but if they were quarantined (usually a better idea) check the virus chest and if you are still not sure which file you need, past the names of the files and thier paths in the virus chest and you might be able to restore the right one. I can’t tell which one it is from the stop-error. But please tell me if this works.
