so ever since I downloaded avast I get what is called a bluescreen error. my computer will start up to where I have to put my password in and then as soon as I do that itll shut down again. why is this, whats it from? not to mention ever since I downloaded this my yahoo msgr is not working. I downloaded this because a friend of mine suggested it to me, and all its done is give me headaches! please help!
What are the details of the BSOD ?
Try jotting down the relevant points, stop error number, any file names, etc. or if you have a digital camera do a low resolution capture of the BSOD.
Common issues are not removing your existing AV causing a conflict.
Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
I had norton a few years back and used the norton removal tool… I recently had kaspersky and removed that, and it said it removed all of it. I also have malwarebytes anti- malware that is still on my computer. lets see if I can describe the error message a little better. when my computer finally goes threw the actal start up process and doesnt shut down a message pops up saying windows has detected a serious problem… or something to that affect. it says click here to send a report, and when I do that is when it brings up somethig about a blue screen error. in the mean time I shall try and find my camera…
