Any other program that could be conflicting? Security program?
Any old antivirus bad uninstalled?

I have the same problem. Had avira before and uninstalled it by the win7-tool. No idea if any other programm has a conflict with avast. No other firewall (use windows-fw) or antivirus-program installed on my pc.

I am getting the same blue screen again and I thought the bug was fixed.

my problem solved after reinstalling avast…

reinstall …that´s all :-. I installed it twice, but always the same problem. anybody an idea? is it not enough to uninstall avira by the usual windows tools before?

the support/help by the experts in this forum is not the best one ;D. hope we get some information, if the version is still buggy or if WE have a problem in our system.

I don’t know if this is the tool you mentioned or just add remove programs, etc. - Avira AntiVir Uninstall Package & RegistryCleaner (choose appropriate version): http://www.avira.com/en/support/support_downloads.html, Avira RegistryCleaner. http://www.avira.com/en/support-download-avira-registrycleaner

You may have to do a ‘clean’ reinstall of avast also:

  • Download the latest version of avast, 6.0.1125 and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again (if you didn’t save your last download). Use that when you reinstall.

  • Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, aswClear.exe find it here and save it to your HDD (it has uninstall tools for both 5.x and 6.0.x).

    1. Now uninstall avast! (using add remove programs, if you can’t do that start from the next step), reboot.- 2. run the avast! Uninstall Utility from safe mode, first for 5.x if previously installed and then for 6.0, once complete reboot into normal mode.- 3. install the latest version, reboot.

I have tried it right now. We will see if the reg-cleaning did help.

Edit: no blue screen yet
