Blue Screen

Hi,

I have a problem with a blue screen, I bought a computer the past weekend (Windows 7), and after the driver installations I went to install Avast 6.0.1203, since then I been having problems with a blue screen appearing from time to time, after some investigation on the net it seems the cause is aswNdin2.sys.

Mi machine never had another anti virus or firewall (since its a fresh install) and I don’t want to uninstall avast because I bought a three years license so I’m kind of stuck

Hope you can Help me with this problem and thanks in advance for any answer.

Please send me your latest minidumps (\Windows\Minidump folder) to kurtin@avast.com
Thanks.

hi pk!

i hope you could also help me. i sent you an email as well. thanks. ;D

Ok, FNXHELLBLAZER BSOD.zip is the name of the file I sent to you, thanks for your help

Both crashes are caused by our firewall driver, please apply ap2011-29-07-001 patch: http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/patches

New program update will fix this issue, but I’m not really sure when exactly we’ll release it (I guess within several weeks).
Thanks.

hi pk! howdy?!

did you receive my mail? is that patch applicable to me even though i don’t have the AIS firewall installed?

thanks

Yes.

No.
Was it a rare BSOD, right? The crash wasn’t in my code, so I’ll forward it to the responsible developer.

Well the patch has been applied, I’ll monitor my computer this week, if anything happens I hope you will help me again, anyway, thanks for everything

Sent you an e-mail PK.

any feedback? ??? ??? ???

well, how often do you get this BSOD? Was it just once? Thanks.

As I’ve said in my e-mail, the avast related BSOD was just once. the other BSODs were frequently experienced after upgrading to outpost 7.5.1 but after applying the patches recommended for DavidR, so for no BSODs.
