g day , I would like to know if a problem exist since yesterday Mar 19th and the last version update. This morning my computer starting blue screening and the report outlines a problem with Avast. I uninstalled and thought well it is probably fixed by now, no it isn’t the second install was even worse damaging my boot file or start up causing me to use the system disc repair for win 7. I am now running a filesystem repair but would like to know how long to wait before allowing an install again.
Thanks to both replies but I still have a question since this fix says to just update definitions when in fact I can’t even boot the computer when or after installing the latest version of Avast. This is where my problem began it was a version update for the program not just the definition list . I have no idea where the problem enters but I can tell you after installing twice this morning it continued blue screening until I could repair the system and it also buggered my start up or boot files. That fixed I just got back into safe mode and uninstalled it completely and that cured the blue screen problems. I have another antivirus running now and hate to reintroduce the same problem again. Can anyone confirm this related definition and fix is in the online download now or is that same download still what was being offered as of this morning and yesterday on the main download page ?
