I use FireFox and IE9 and not had any problems until now. I attempted to log into this site using IE9 which I have done before and it told me user name and password not valid, requested a new password and was sent a message to change my password and completed then logged in. Clicked on this subject area and when it opened was greeted with “Welcome Guset” after having logged in. It required me to login again no matter which page I would go to, after re-logging in each time using IE9.
Switched to FF v7.0.1 and all seems to be working normal. I thought I had cookies set for accept in IE9 but now I am not sure what is occurring. I have another post in “avast! Free/Pro/Suite” on a different problem.
If you have avast in your favorites list then change your browsing history settings to what i have below and that should keep your settings, also if you use ccleaner you will have to add the forum.avast.com cookie to the cookies to keep in options.
ady4um the OP’s issue is not with compatibility as he can view the forum, the problem is with having to sign in each time which means the the OP is deleting the avast cookie each time he closes the browser.
Thank you for these posts and please accept my apology for this late posting in response. Being the auto mechanic, computer specialist, admin, gardener, house maid, cook/bottle washer it has been a little busy around here.
I have taken your information into consideration and will see if I can find what the problem has been. I have Ccleaner and it is supposed to be saving the cookies for both FF7.x and IE9.x, double checking will do no harm and I will take care.
With all of those potential threats listed in my Memory scan by Avast and my problems attempting to login to these forums just caused some concern. I also use Password Maker in FireFos for keeping my passwords, have been using it for many years and find it doing me well. As an added note I just copy/paste my password into the box and it still would not work. Then asked to get some help from your forum and they sent me a link to change the password which I did and used the same and it then worked just fine. Today the same senerio occurred and just was wondering if I have a glitch in my login or just a problem I need to cope with.
“ady4um”: These suggestions have not crossed my screen before so now I have other ways to get through that problem in the future.
"DavidR’: Excuse me for the neglect of your post, just slipped my mine. Nor as far as I know at this time, all necessary cookies are supposed to be saved, but; will double check and triple if necessary to insure this is cleared.
