boaxxe-E trojan?

When Chrome is started, the following message is shown:

avast! File System Shield has blocked a threat.
No further action is required.

Object: C:\USers..\AppData\Local.…\action.js
INfection: JS:Boaxxe-E [Trj]
Action: Moved to chest
Process: C:\Program Files (86).…\chrome.exe

How to solve it? Thanks in advance!

I also have this problem.

Once I turn off avast and let this script run, it was newer detected any more.

Time to reinstall Windows.

Scanned the PC with Avast, Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials, they didn’t solve it, still the same message.
I just disabled all Avast alerts.

Same problem.

I seem to have been able to resolve my issue with Boaxxe-E & Chrome…

In my case, every time I started Chrome I would get the warning as seen in the first post.
The issue I found was one of my extensions was the issue. However, even after deleting all my extensions, I logged into my google account & into my Chrome sync settings & found that there was still 3 extensions showing.

So every time I deleted the user in Chrome & resynced the avast message would return.

TO FIX : open chrome & check it has all the settings you want. i.e. bookmarks etc
Go to the google sign in → https://accounts.google.com/Login?hl=en & sign in
Go to Data Tools → Dashboard → Chrome Sync → Manage Chrome Sync
Select Stop & Clear

This will stop the sync process & clear any data from chrome sync. Note you still have all your data in your local browser.

Once that’s done, you will need to sign in again to your browser & allow a sync. The data in your browser will now repopulate the google sync servers & all should be fine again.

Note that I deleted all of my extensions first to make sure that the sync server said I had none. You may need to do that, but its probably worth a try first without deleting them to avoid having to re download & reload settings into your extensions if you have a few.

Cheers
Hope this helps

This shall be fixed if you reset Google Chrome browser back to the defaults. Then it will be removed all known or unknown extensions and will be restored the defaults settings. Surely you’ll have to check if there is installed some bad PUP or Adware as this is the best just to uninstall from the system. You can tell what is bad program by googling the name or searching the install date.

??? …just for one loaded Chrome extensions to the Chrome browser that can be fixed in few steps…?

Thanks Magna86, yes reseting to defaults will fix until you sync again…you need to delete the issue saved in chrome sync else it will continue to return everytime you log back into chrome & resync. My issues was an extension I couldn’t see in Chrome, as stated I deleted all my extensions & yet Chrome sync said I still had 3. I effectively had to delete those 3 from Chrome sync & then refresh with my local copy.

I ran every Anti-Adware program I could find, to NIL effect over they last few days.

Anyway my chrome is now working perfectly. Thanks to Avast detecting & blocking the issue.

Cheers

In that case something is loaded in hosts system that add the extension again. This Boaxxe.E load BHO with probably this CLSID key: 5B6FD59E-CAD7-41D3-98B8-51ACCA596EF8, random name services and it create a task with random.dll file and winlogon key for loading pint.

The removal of this required set of reports and targeting with script. In other words, the problem probably is not removed, only the muted…

They can only target the know entries and threads or their behavior. In most cases just part is being removed.
