Nice find Damien.
Thanks, it’s been added. Hopefully I don’t have to use it.
I too have bookmarked it, as Bob said hopefully I won’t need it but it is a good point of reference.
Shame about the site being heavily script (javascript) dependant as with NoScript enabled the page doesn’t display well.

The more information and help…the better, just in case.
Thanks so very much polonus…much appreciated.
Thankee Damien I have been looking for something that details file and registry actions
Visiting that site is like getting lost in a dictionary. I’m so busy reading I forget what I wanted to look up.
Bookmarked! Thanks, polonus!
Thanks Damian booked it 8), BTW it’s a huge dissapoint to see Ukraine at the 2 place after China on malware distributing rating :‘( :’(
I don’t want to sound like a dryasdust but the stats are fake IMHO. ;D
Sorry Vlk but what stats are in dispute ?
First, the site is run by PC Tools. OK, I don’t want to go into this again, but let me just say that they are not taken too seriously in the AV circles. But nevermind…
The reason the stats are irrelevant is that these are stats from the samples analysed by (= submitted to) their sandbox system only. Therefore, e.g. the geographic distribution is completely unrelated to the “big picture” (there’s hundreds of thousands, or even millions malware samples out there. If you take a small fraction of them and do some stats on them, the stats will simply not be valid for the overall set…).
I don’t want to put down anyone here, just take the information presented on that website with a grain of salt. PC Tools has demonstrated X times that it is primarily a marketing company, and the website’s main goal is to attract people to installing their products…
Cheers
Vlk
Thank you Vlk for your response and candor , not being on the leading edge of the AV industry myself it is obviously great to hear from the ‘horses mouth’ , so to speak
From http://www.threatexpert.com/ ; “In only a few minutes Threat Expert can process a sample and generate a highly detailed threat report with the level of technical detail that matches or exceeds antivirus industry standards such as those normally found in online virus encyclopedias.”
Interesting reading …

Does this include the firewall from them? We can’t never mind this…
What about SpywareDoctor, in your personal opinion.

It is not developed by them. It used to be rebranded Look’n’Stop, and I think the latest version is a rebranded ZoneAlarm.I’m not a big fan of rebranding…

That’s the only program they actually developed, and, well, I somehow don’t like it; but please, don’t ask me for details as I don’t use it so I’m not the right person to criticise it.
Cheers
Vlk
I just use the SD Starter Edition, free.
And uninstalled the firewall some days ago.
Just give up due to lack of detection, both on XP and Vista. I’ve moved to SpywareTerminator.
