Since the 29//2006 virus update (0613-1), Avast keeps finding the “Win32:Webdor-G [Trj]” trojan in my Opera (*.adr) bookmarks, even in years old bookmark- backups. What virus-string has been added to this update, so that I can change the name of the culprit bookmark? Seems a false, yet annoying alarm. ???
Ha die Maarten,
You are infected with agobot aka webdoor-g trojan, look here:
http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/agobot.shtml.
“Verwijderingsinstructies via dezelfde link als boven, succes met het weghalen van dit trojaans paard en welkom op ons forum”
(In dutch: removal instructions through above mentioned link, success on cleansing this trojan horse from your comp, welcome to our forum).
groetjes,
polonus
Thanks Polonus, It’s great to have such fast solution!
(Dutch: Reuze bedankt. Groeten uit Nieuw Zeeland)
… however, no infection was found by the F-Bot utility; not in memory, not on the hard drives.
When I remove all my old bookmarks and start afresh, AVast has no problem, but even checking the old archived bookmark files, the siren starts! So I am back to my initial assumption that the latest virus-database has introduced a search for some character-string, which can also be found somewhere among my bookmarks.
The latest update of the Avast virus=database solved it all. Thank you, team!
Maarten
