Boot Error

I just purchased and installed Avast-5 Suite a couple of weeks ago, I ran a Virus check yesterday. and the next day. when I turned my comp. on kept getting (session initialization failed). So in order to get my system to work again had to select to boot form a recent time that it booted up with out any problems. And the Avast 5 is the only thing I have installed recently. That seemed to fix the problem but afraid it may still exist.
Don’t really Know if the program caused the problem or not. Have you heard of any things happening like this.

Thanks Tom65

Did you run the boot time scan? I have seen avast detect and delete some rootkits before that caused the system not to boot. Running system restore in safe mode or a repair from the Windows CD fixes this easily. Its also a good idea to use move to chest rather than delete when using the boot time scanner in the rare chance of a false positive.

Thanks Mac
That seemed to take care of the problem. but I need to Know something else. After my comp is booted Up seems to take a little longer than I’m use to before I can use
it. Seems Avast takes some time to scan what ever it checking. Is that normal or possible do I have and option wrg in the setup?

Thanks again Tom

It’s not only to check but to load avast (drivers, services, virus definitions…).
Indeed, the boot will take something longer. But it should be 10-15 seconds only. More than this, something could be happen.
You could use http://soluto.com/ to check your boot time (remember, it’s a beta program yet).
