I am getting a zillion of 42100 errors on boot scan.
I read previos posts on that subject.
The machine is:
P4 2.5GHz
MSI 533MHz FSB
Windows XP SP2
updated Avast free home edition.
What is this problem?

Have you tried a forun search for 42100 as this I believe has been discussed a number of times?
yes, I tried to search posts on the problem.
The previous discussions were relevant to 64 bit AMD systems.
My system is a regular pentium 4.
so I ask again, what does this problem mean on a P4?
That’s strange, as you say this seems to be related to the AMD64 processors, but the general 42100 code error could apply to other circumstances that are not processor dependant, just that we have only seen it reported when users have AMD64s.
Hopefully one of the Alwil team will pick up on this thread and offer some advice.

Can you give us a few examples of the full filenames (where this error is reported)?
