Boot Scan and Vista

My son is trying to run a boot scan on his Vista machine and not having much luck. Any suggestions?

Hi cbroadh2o!

Is it the 64bit version of Vista or the 32bit version?
Because avast! doesn’t support the boot-time-scan on 64bit OS yet…

Thanks, yep it is the 64bit OS.

The boot-time scan for 64bit OS versions is being worked on, but will be unsupported in 4.8 and 5.0, there is however, hope that it will be available in avast 5.1.

So for now unfortunately that function is unavailable, the nearest thing would be a scan in safe mode.
