Can someone help me out here? My boot scan is unable to complete and freezes in the middle of scanning “Program Files”. Is it possible that this was done by virus/rootkit/worm/trojan/adware/keylogger/tracking cookies? Please help me. Thanks.
Can you post the last file name and path that have been scanned?
Is there any info in the report file? \Data\Report\aswBoot.txt
Hi, occultdestroyer! May be you need just to chek CPU FAN on your motherboard. May be FAN don’t work and CPU is overheated?
To Tech:
Yes, the last file name was:
File C:\Program Files\LimeWire.NetworkShare\Doom II - Hell on Earth.zip\Doom II - Hell on Earth\full game\DOOM2B.1\doom2.wad
To sergofun:
I’m using a laptop, so obviously there is no fan.
Doubt I can help … But I have recently resurrected an old Sony laptop (vintage 2001) … running WinME on a P3 with 128Mb memory and about 6Gb disk. Do you think a boot time scan on that would come anywhere near to what you are running?
Can you right click it and scan it? What do you get?
Or if you open avast and scan the file, what do you get?
Isn’t the computer overheating?
Hey, occultdestroyer, I’m too love to play in DooM2 when I have some free time!
So, I’m too have doom2.wad, but this file doesn’t freeze my PC during boot-scan…
I tried scanning the file but there were no problems ???. Perhaps you’re right about the overheating thing 8)
Most probably… scanning is a very intensive operation and could drive to overheat in old computers…
