boot scan error

Hi:

I am a new user. I use avast home edition on my machine that is running on windows xp pro with sp2. My problem is during boot time scanning I am getting an error that says, “Keyboard Error”. I am wondering why?
I tried to find a solution from other postings, but did not find any.
Any help/suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

USB keyboard?
If so, is usb for dos enabled in the bios?

It is an USB keyboard, and it is enabled at the bios level.

Try a ps2 keyboard. USB kb’s sometimes give troubles if windows is not loaded.
