Boot Scan: No Win7, Black Screen

Last night I was hit with that Flufferminer thing. Avast said infected layout.ini file and I deleted from the virus chest. Further scans with Avast, MalwareBytes, Hitman, ADW showed no virus. This AM I went to do a final boot scan and Windows 7 would not load. Mouse light and keyboard came on, but no Windows 7 screen. Black screen. Shut off the power and I was able to boot. More scans today showed no virus and I rebuilt the layout.ini file with the help of two other members.

System seems to be OK.

Can some please advise regarding the boot scan issue? I am afraid to try another boot scan, but at some point I will have to.

What boot scan issue?
I’ve just completed another bootscan with the current version 2014.9.0.2008, VD 131115-1 and I didn’t have any issues.

Do you have the latest version?.
Was it installed as a clean install, after properly removing the previous version?

Perhaps I was not clear - the boot scan issue just refers to me.

The first bootscan after the FP went fine and found nothing. I deleted the layout.ini file from the chest.

I did more scans with no threats, restarted, and then did a final bootscan which resulted in -no Windows 7 loading and a black screen. I had to unplug the PC and try to boot up again which worked.

Haven’t tried to boot scan since.
