I get a message when doing a boot scan which won’t allow me to delete, repair or move to chest. Only thing allowed is “ignore”. Do this to complete the boot scan. The message reads: “C:\ProgramData{559F25A3-87D2-4D88-ADC5-DF4C277CDD45}\setup.res|>hstart.exe is infected by win32:HiddenStart [PUP]”. I am now constantly getting a pop-up error message which says :The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program." One big problem with this - it doesn’t tell me which of my many, many setup files it is talking about. Started about a week ago. I have not recently installed any new programs. Only thing is Microsoft downloads or any security program upgrades that happen all the time and I’m afraid I don’t record them when they happen. I have gotten other boot scan problems before this where I could only ignore to complete boot scan - but never got the error message which I am getting even when I am in the middle of programs. And lately getting it when I start my computer. I have run Avast, IObit Advanced Care, PCMatic, Windows Defender, Piriform CCleaner and nothing stops this from happening. Everything says there is no virus except for the boot scan in Avast (which won’t move the error to chest. I have Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit. Please - what am I supposed to do to get rid of this? Thank you.
Everything says there is no virus except for the boot scan in Avast (which won't move the error to chest.nope....it does not PUP - not a virus = Possible Unwanted Program. http://searchsecurity.techtarget.com/definition/PUP also in that category are program that can be good or bad if abused
is this a DELL computer?
