Boot Scan Problem

Hi,
I’m running Avast! Free and Malwarebytes Pro with Windows7. I’ve made 2 attempts to do a Boot Scan. Both times when the computer has restarted nothing seems to happen. The computer is on and I can see the screen light but not the black screen and progress reporting that I’d experienced doing this on another computer.

After about half an hour I tried to shut down the computer by using the power button and it seemed to go into sleep mode as indicated by my flashing power light. I tried bringing it back up but nothing happened so I just kept holding down the power button until it was completely off. Once it came back up the computer repair kicked in saying that the computer was unable to start and restored it to a previous point about 8 days prior.

After the second attempt doing the same thing, I went into the scan log which indicated that 2 scans had in fact been done, but I thought they could not have been complete as the previous ones i’d done on other computers took a much longer time.

The first attempt recorded a virus found, C:\USERS\KB\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\17.…Stremer.class
Severity: High, but since I couldn’t see the screen I couldn’t direct it what to do with it at the time (my settings are to ask me if something is found) Later, when I tried to put it in the chest the result was, Error:The system can not find the file specified (2)

The second scan found no virus.
First how can I get rid of the virus that was found and second, why is the Boot Scan not showing on the computer and not allowing it to start?

Thanks for any help.

This is the EXACT problem I’m having…
