Boot Scan Prompting the User

I’m quite new to Avast, but so far I am very impressed with it.

I have found that the boot scan finds infected files on my machine that a normal full scan does not, however I have never once been able to finish a boot scan. The reason is that the scan simply takes too long, and I cannot leave it to run overnight or so because every time it runs into an infected file it prompts me to take action and doesn’t continue scanning until it I have responded. This means I have to check on it every now and again, and I need to use my PC.

Wouldn’t it be more convenient if the boot scan behaved like the other scans by making a list of infected files as it scans and only prompting the user for action at the end of the scan?

Yes, it would.
Due to technical limitations and security reasons (automatic action with necessary files in the computer being falsely recognized as virus) this feature (automated actions) was removed from the boot time scanning.
They’re planning to do so in the future.

You can create a full customized scan (with archives included, heuristics, sensibility, etc.) and run into Windows at low priority (so you can use the computer meanwhile).

Welcome to your new avast!
