I was wondering if you can add Boot scan schedueler(each mounth, ear ,day, etc.) and run automaticaly ?
hi SA 1,
No.
Bootscan is only used when avast! detects an infectious agent and asks for Bootscan to be enabled on reboot. Bootscan runs outside of Windows, so it is not a routine scan but an emergency one. It also has scanning features built in that, if used improperly, can damage the operating system. Also note that, depending on the amount of data and size of the drive being scanned, it can literally take hours to complete, so it is a program to be used only as a last resort when nothing else seems to work.
It is to be used only when an infection is detected and that infection cannot be removed using normal methods.
Daily scanning is overrated and not needed when using avast!, as the eight real-time shields block any known malicious agents or files. Preventing an infection from installing and running on your system is one of avast’s strengths.
So, scheduling a weekly quick scan is enough, and combined with safe internet practices, that would be enough to be virus-free. Leave all scanning settings at default until you know what you are doing, and your experience with avast! should be a happy one.
