I installed Avast a few days ago, it ran boot scans for the 1st day. Thereafter it stopped running them. I didn’t tell it to stop.
Is this normal?
If I want Avast to run a further boot scan how do I instruct it to do this?

It is a one shot deal, most users would be a little pi**ed if a boot-time scan was done on every boot.
It isn’t a thing that you run regularly only when there is a problem with a detection that can’t be dealt with when windows is running, e.g. file in use, or protected, or virus in memory, or you suspect an infection, etc. When this occurs avast may suggest a boot-time scan otherwise you can schedule one.
If you have XP, vista32bit or Win2k, you could enable a boot time scan. Right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus, Menu, ‘Schedule boot-time scan…’ Or see http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php.
Thanks.
No problem, welcome to the forums.
