I like doing a boot scan once a month
Just recently I noticed a friend being nosy and loooking at the path address as avast was scanning
It would be very nice to hide it and replacing with a progression bar, if possible
thank you.
Or you could just switch off the Monitor, is this a good idea Batman.
You really have some funny requests…!!
Just kick your friend out (once a month)… ;D
It wouldn’t be very nice since other user might find that the ability to see the file path of which Avast is scanning at is actually useful rather than a simple progress bar.
My advice to you, just minimize your Avast UI whenever that nosy friend of yours appear ![]()
edit : Oops sorry, just realize about the boot scan part…
So my advice to you, just listen to Asyn advice ![]()
Oh, I like boot scan also! ![]()
But I don’t know how to make Avast! Free
to do it every time the computer start. ![]()
Now I’m forced to plan it every time before shut down.
It is like to do sunset manualy.
Could you help me with an advice, please?
But I don't know how to make Avast! Free to do it every time the computer start.???
The boot-time scanner is an expert feature, and was designed to be used when there’s something bad going on on the system.https://blog.avast.com/2010/02/04/v5-bts-auto-actions/
The boot-time scanner is an expert feature,
It goes without saying.
But when I’m just tuning (repairing) my system, and it takes 2-3 days of monitoring the system health?
I’ve come across such a tricky viruses that can disactivate AV program in OS…
But when I'm just tuning (repairing) my system, and it takes 2-3 days of monitoring the system health?does not understand what you mean ???
I've come across such a tricky viruses that can disactivate AV program in OS...upload suspicious file(s) to www.virustotal.com and test with 44 malware scanners when you have the result, copy the url in the address bar and post it here for us to see

Boot-time scan at every boot is overkill :![]()
If by one or two time boot-time scan the malware still active or exist then you need another mean to remove it (Malwarebytes, SUPERAntiSpyware, or specialized tools for specific type of malware)
Fully agree.
I suggest:
- Clean your temporary files.
- Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on. If avast does not detect it, you can try DrWeb CureIT! instead.
- Use Comodo Cleaning Essentials (CCE), or MBAM, or SUPERantispyware to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, it is better and safer to send the infected file(s) to quarantine (Chest), rather than simply deleting them.
- Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
- Read these instructions and provide more info with the logs generated. But, please, do NOT post there, open a NEW thread for your specific problem and help us to help you.
- Clean your Hosts file (replacing it) with HostsMan tool.
- Disable System Restore and then reenable it again.
- Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster.
- Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.
