Boot Scan

Boot scan is to remove nasty malware that cannot be removed on normal system, right?

When a system gets infected with ransomware, sometimes system cannot boot normal & safe mode both i.e ransomware screen appears before system reaches desktop. In this case you cannot run boot scan.

I think it would be good if there is an option in Avast to show “Avast Boot Scan” during system boot. Avast can keep this option disabled by default if they think it is not good for average users. And if Avast is password protected, to run Boot Scan password should be required.

What you think guys?

If the ransomware affects the computer before avast! can load, it would worth nothing.
Cryptographic ransomware would block the file access and avast! wouldn’t be able to decrypt them.
Here only the protection is the solution, not a boot time scanning imho.

When a malware is detected, sometimes Avast offers to run bootscan.

It would be good if it doesn’t offer BS or there is an option to disable it. As its not required most of the time when malware is detected & can unsettle average users.
