I had to delete Avast for a while as it conflicted with one of my email servers (123-reg.co.uk hosted). Eventually found it was because Avast was adding a little message at the end of each email and was picking that up as spam - and refusing to deal with it. Amended Avast not to add the message & hey presto - emails were OK again.
I feel silly posting this but before I deleted Avast, I used to scan always in Boot scan mode - but since reinstalling Avast, I cannot for the life of me see how to set that up with the new dashboard menu - can someone advise? Thanks in advance…

I used to scan always in Boot scan mode
Why? ... boot scan is not meant to be used as a regular scanner, it is a special tool to be used if you have problems removing a infection
How to, see avast FAQ https://support.avast.com/

It is cleverly hidden under the Scan icon on the UI home page - In the expanded Scan section > Scan for viruses - here you can use the drop down list to select which scan you wish to run.
The Boot Time scan is cunningly hidden here once you selected the scan at the bottom of the windows is the Scan Settings in which you can modify the actions, etc.
