Why do I get a red flag after a boot-time scan - seems I can’t do nothing about it.
Ah that is the infamous Ghost icon.
If you check that scan results, do you see it found no detections? If so you are OK.
The Ghost icon means that Avast could not scan file or files e.g. on One Drive etc. See this:

If you search the Forum using “Ghost icon” you will find several other threads on the subject, as the Ghost (or Pacman) indicator has puzzled many people over the past months.
Thanks for that info. Scan result log indicates 0 infected files, but a multitude of code 42125 {.zip archive is corrupted}. Most are from Microsoft Office 365 or Windows installer.
However when I check the specified files, they are just Office documents’ background option, not a .zip file
