Boot time scan v4.8 and vista 32 bit

I have just run a boot time scan and it has completed showing no infections. I cannot then exit the results display and reboot windows. On pressing any key no effect. I have had to do a hard reset of the pc to get my machine to boot.

Is this an issue known or otherwise?

It’s not a feature… Windows should boot after scanning.
Can you check the report file that is created automatically in \Data\Report\aswBoot.txt to see if any info is displayed there?

I had a look at the file and all appears ok

Scan of all local drives

Number of searched folders: 32616
Number of tested files: 227537
Number of infected files: 0

just detailing the results of the scan. I assumed once the scan had finished that the computer reboots - it didn’t.

I am running vista 32 SP1 with all patches. Any ideas? anyone else had this issue?

To abandon a boot-time scan you can use the Esc key, this might help if it doesn’t automaticaly reboot. Though the log does seem to indicate that the scan finished.

tried that at the time. No response…

I don’t know why it wouldn’t boot on completion as it is meant to, this is certainly the first time I have heard of this happening. I don’t use Vista so I can’t really test it.

Does any key work? I mean, do you use an USB keyboard?

I have avast installed on a laptop and no key works…

Can you attach the file \Data\Log\aswBoot.log?
