Boot Time scan was working now NOT??

Running new Avast 4.7
Running winxp pro
Loads of memory
Using a seperate ‘d’ drive to store all files/programs etc
‘C’ drive is used just for running winxp pro

I installed a new USB wireless keyboard and mouse, Plug ‘n’ Play
Worked sorta well (usb had to be in the back of the PC could NOT use it on an USB Extension lead.

Run BOOT TIME SCAN and AVAST scanned my system for almost 2 hours (Yes I had several viruses’ thats why I ran BOOT TIME)
BTS finished and my PC worked better than it ever had…THANK YOU AVAST

I have now chucked away the USB wireless keyboard and mouse and gone back to using a USB wired mouse and keyboard. connected to the back of the PC

Now when I run BTS It says…

KEYBOARD ERROR

And shuts the scan OFF.

Whats happened guys???

Oh and pls be aware…I am a PLUMBER not a PC engineer :-\ so you will have to explain everything in detail… :smiley:

What’s the exact version (build) of avast! you have installed? Is it 4.7.1098?

Do a manual update, right click the avast ‘a’ icon, select Updating, Program Update. Complete the update and reboot.

There has been an update in the boot-time scanning which should resolve your problem.
