Boot time scan

I just was curious about the boot time scan. It isn’t something any of the other major anti virus companies have at least as far as I know. It seems like it would be more effective then the other anti virus’s companies full system scan since non of the virus’s get a chance to start up before the scan runs.

Is this the philosopy behind boot time scan?

Yes and no.
Yes, viruses are not ‘loaded’ at that time.
No, the efficiency depends on virus database signatures and unpackers (to check files into archive files). avast does not have a heuristic detection.
