Hi
When Im trying to boot time scheduling the scanner, Im getting the pop up message : Program cannot schedule the boot-time scan.
Any assistance will be welcomed.
Thanks

What other security applications are installed?
Have you done any tweaking or disabled any of the services?
Try a repair install of Avast (Control panel>add/remove programs>avast" click “change or remove”, click the “repair” option when it appears.)
Thank you for your reply.
I did not tweak or disabled any of the Avast services.
Tried what you have suggested with no success.
What should I do know?
You’re running as an admin?
I did not tweak or disabled any of the Avast services.Any tweaking or services, not just the Avast ones. Any other security software installed? Any VM or imaging software?
Yes I`m running as an admin.Did not tweak any of the services in my PC.
Security softwears:1/Superantispyware(free version) 2/Spyware terminator.
3 /Spywareblaster .4/Online Armour firewall
Virtuan Machine:Sandboxie
Try disabling the HIPS in ST. That has been a frequent problem with running all sorts of things, not only Avast.
Check that ST is set to “advanced user”. That way it will ask for user confirmation for any change it might otherwise block without asking.
Personally I’d do away with ST. Oh. wait a moment, I did. ;D
Done as suggested, but… ![]()
By the way ,the pop-up comes written in some weird unreadable letters on top of it.
Found the bad guy: Online Armour firewall.I did not produce any rule regarding Avast, it did it by itself, without showing any rule configured.
You may have an issue here you will be able to help some other users with similar problem. .
thanks.Regards
Ah our old friend Online Armor, blocking without any sodding notifications again and a user left chasing their tail to find out what the problem is.
Thanks for letting us know the problem. Perhaps you’d also inform the good folk at Tall Emu, I’m pretty sure they’ll be keen to explain what happened/put it right.
You have a HIPS-type application in OA. And in ST (if selected). Probably too much overlap with these two, likely to produce too many popups (or block things without telling you) and consume extra resource doing much the same thing.
