Boot up Virus Scan Possible??

Hello,
I was looking to see if it is possible to do a Virus Scan in Dos mode before bootup? I am using XP Pro.
I am using the Home edition,
or do I need to upgrade to the Pro version?

It has done this before when it found a couple of Virus in the Memory.

I wan’t able to see an option to do this.

I appreciate any help
Cheers
Steve

Steve, there is no DOS for Windows XP.
You can run a boot time scanning.
Right click the avast! skin and choose the Schedule Boot time scanning.
Set the options and boot.

It’s on both Home and Professional version of avast.

Thanks for both replies, Much appreicated.
It ran, but didn’y find any virus problems.
I also ran TrojanHunter, and it found nothing.

I have numerous problems, but i will list a few,

I can’t do a Windows Update, I get to the page, but it doesn’t go any further when I press the Custom or the Express Install.

I can’t get access to internet email, I even tried to open a HotMail account, but the page just goes blank, like my own internet email provider.

Appreciate any comments

Were there any error messages associated with these?

What firewall do you have?
If you terminate the web shield provider can you connect to those locations?

Hi David,
If I disable the Web Shield, I still can’t get to the web Pages.

I didn’t have any error messages either.

I will keep trying to see if I can get access,
If not, then I will do a Format of the Hard drive and start again fresh.
