Both Avast & W11 firewalls reported as on

Hi,

I’ve recently installed Avast One and in the Windows 11 security center both Avast and Windows Defender firewalls are stated to be on. I had assumed that Avast would turn the Windows Defender firewall off.

Can I safely manually turn the WD firewall off (which I know how to do)? Does the Avast firewall need it to be on (as some products which rely on th in built firewall do)?

Hi,

It generally should disable Windows Defender.
Did you restart Windows after installing Avast One?
Can you please provide a screenshot (security centre showing firewalls)
