Today I bought and installed the 2 year subscription to AvastPro. Before I had the free version.
After installation, I had a restart notice so I restarted. No removal of the free Avast was offered during installation.
After restart things look exactly the same as before. The free Avast is still running, claims it is up to date. Although I have received a licence key I have not been asked to insert it.
The machine is a Dell desktop running Win2k.
So now what please?
The Pro version is installed over the Home, the Home is not removed.
You need to change the interface, starting avast, clicking in the skin and then changing to Enhanced Interface.
Once you do it, when you start avast again it will start at the Enhanced interface.
But if you did not insert the Professional key, nothing was changed in your installation and you’re with Home only.
Insert the key and avast will upgrade.
Thanks I did what you said and I now have Avast Pro running.
I suggest if there are any Alwil staff looking at this that you modify the instructions sent with on the web page and sent with the confirmatory Email to reflect this, as I simple followed the original received instructions!
A further question,
Now that I have Pro running I have a folder labelled Virus Information.
This seems quite interesting, if only I could read the display. All I can see is the headings and ticks. the text is light coloured on a white background. How can I change this please?
Isn’t it just a problem of column width? If you pass the mouse over the column headings you’ll be able to adjust the column width and see the info.
