My installations updated automatically to 12.1.2272. I didn’t even recognize it, just when I got notified about the update through other channels.
If the new versions go through longer beta tests, this seems to be a good way of keeping people up-to-date. Corporate environments (using managed versions) however should be treated differently in the future of course.
Nice release, keep on removing buggy stuff!

Yes there will be restart required after the monthly update, but we won’t bother you with some dialogs. We know that users are restarting by themselves pretty often. So we will notify you only in case you don’t restart for a long time to finish the update…
There will be no silent monthly updates on my PC. I update everything manually because I don’t like
unwanted “surprises” like Chrome or SafeZone browser installation. I hope you’ll continue to post links for full installers
here on the forum.
BTW, after adding additional language, UI froze so I had to reboot to fix that.
I don’t know why I have to add additional language after every program update and why additional language setting is not remembered.
I would rather not prefer to test samples that more than 6 months old…they are equivalent as dead ones to the real world.Also alot of those samples looked like adware downloaders and bunch of crap to me.
Is CyberCapture for downloaded files?? Because in that case what happens if the file is already on the pc or is coming a USB stick?? :
This is becoming like comodo’s sandbox which also is only for downloaded files unless settings are changed :o

I would never recommend using an on-line stub installer.
I believe CNet have their own download tool, which presumably also contains the avast stub installer.

With this latest release (12.1.2272) the boot time when the Windows logo appears loading is extremely large in my Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bits. Previously I did a clean install and the same results. With the previous version there were no problems. Any solution?

The interface is identical to deepscreen. only change enable scans for potentially unwanted programs PUPs and Filerep.Hips kept the default setting and it did not see action during the test.

I just realized after 8+ months trying to fiqure out why my boot time went from 10 seconds to 45+, I for the longest time thought it was Windows 10 1151 cause before that boot time were fine…
I just after OCD kicked in to trying fiqure this out again. I removed Avast, and I saw my 45+ seconds boot time drop to like less then 10… I gona try this new build the claims faster boot time and see what happens.
well I install this build and first reboot after install Boot times went from 10 seconds to 45+.

Can you add an option to add the files to the exclusion list from the scan results and not only from the virus chest?

Also I experienced a bug in the previous stable version of avast! under Windows 8.1 x64 where the files which I added to the exclusion list manually disappeared from the list and the list became empty. This happened 3 times and I was bored to add the files again and again to the exclusion and then I decided to remove avast and to switch to another program.

and were did statistics info go it not under tools anymore
It hasbeen removed since it will be getting re-designed in a future update due to issues with high CPU and RAM usage from it.
it not in the notes that is has been removed when is it gonna be brought back?
Also i noticed aftare a scan is complete if click scan history pick scan detail report is ghosted out it was not in last build
