Browser Clean Up

What is the deal with this thing?!?!?

It keeps reporting it fond a “bad add-on”. I choose to remove it, but every time I try to remove it, Avast tells me I am not an administrator and I’m supposed to run the app as an administrator.

Well…I AM an administrator on my laptop!! And running the GUI as an administrator makes no lick of difference. When I try to change the account the background service Avast runs under, it tells me that the service HAS to run under the local service account.

So WTF?!?!?

Go to add/remove, right click on avast, click on change, untick the browser cleanup, and follow the instructions. Avast will uninstall the features that you don’t want. After it has been uninstalled restart your computer manually!

I’m not trying to uninstall Browser Clean Up…I want to uninstall the bad add-on through Browser Clean Up.

and I’m looking for an explanation why Avast acts the way it does when someone IS an administrator but it doesn’t recognize that. And why can’t it run under any other account besides LOCAL SYSTEM??

The BCU is based on user, not necessarily avast, ratings.

Like I said in my initial post…I am logged in as an administrator, but BCU keeps telling me I need to be an Administrator.

Why does it keep telling me I’m not when I AM an administrator!
