Browser Cleanup - Run as Administrator

Hi guys

I am new to this product. I just tried to run Browser cleanup and it fails as I need to “Run as Administrator”. I have run from an administrator account and I have right clicked the program as selected “Run as Administrator”. Neither worked. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to close the entire program somehow and restart in Administrator or something? Appreciate if someone could lead me by the nose on this one!

Many thanks.

From where have you downloaded it? http://files.avast.com/files/tools/avast-browser-cleanup.exe
It should run and ask for admin rights when necessary.

I am having the same problem, have tried this link but makes still says i don’t have administrator privileges.

Close all browsers. Right click the tool and choose ‘run as administrator’.

I have tried that, and seemingly everything else, but each time I try to remove an item it tells me I have to run as an admin. The login I am using is an admin login. It is the only one on the computer. When I close all browser and right click/run as admin, I get the same warning.

I know this is weird, but, sometimes, only the internal admin account could do some things.
Other “administrator” accounts could fail (for instance, installing some .msi files).
