Browser Cleanup found ‘&Research’ add-onwith a poor reputation. To remove this I am requied to change my homepage to Yahoo or Bing (it is presently Google). I do not want to change it but I would like to remove the add on. Any advice?
I am trying to clean up my stuff too. but you have not mentioned which browser or clean-up tool you are using, avast i’m guessing. If it is an undesired add-on just go to the browser setting and remove it I think. Or just remove it with avast then just go back and reset your search engine and home page. If it is IE you can just go to the settings and disable it because it might be part of something you installed and did not choose “Do Not Install” upon installation. It might affect that program if removed but I don’t know.
If you don’t know, then please don’t give advice to others.

Again, what are you using, I did not see anything saying that I had to change my homepage to Yahoo or Bing while using avast! I removed a few add-ons without problems.
Removed the add on via I E options. Scan now shows browser all clear.
That’s great, pretty simple stuff right! You should always mention what you are using with all the info. you can provide so someone can help better and learn from this. Again I can only assume you were using avast but we still don’t know? Did you Remove it or Disable it?

I was using Avast Browser Clean up. My browser is Firefox but the add on was in IE so I was able to diable it via IE browser settings. Thanks for you help.
We all have IE on our Windows computers even if it’s not our default browser.
The avast! browser cleaner will clean up unwanted browser add ons from all of your installed browsers.
