I have updated to Avast v 2014.9.0.2006
Then noted that a web page that contained links to Amazon books would not load fully - the page’s main headings were there but all the book ‘icons’ that could be clicked on to go to any particular book on Amazon were missing and the page was basically left blank.
After I disabled the plug in that Avast had added to Firefox (Avast Browser Security & Web Reputation) the page loads correctly. Somehow the Avast plug in is blocking the Amazon content from loading.
Any way around that or I may switch AV’s and I don’t want to do that.
Thanks
Any particular reason you didn’t update to latest version 9.2008 and from what I understand, has a fix for Browser plug-in that was not in version 9.2006

Have just updated again to version 9.2008 and it has the same problem.
If I disable the plugin the page loads ok. I guess with this plugin disabled my pc is not protected for browsing with Firefox?
Too bad that didn’t resolve your issue.
I’ve never experienced any issue with the plugins with FF
The only issue I have had with plugin crashing was prior to Avast v9.2008 and IE11

Can you post the URL to that particular page please?

Actually, you don’t have to close the entire extension; just the Amazon Associates part under Ad Tracking blocked.

As dbrisendine has said, Avast is blocking Ad Tracking, and that site makes Ad tracking a condition of viewing.
If you turn off Ad tracking, the content of the site can be viewed.

Great! Sorting ‘ad blocking’ did it. Wasn’t aware of that feature!
Thanks all for the input.
