If you want to know more about the security of your favorite browser, browser security measures and browser security features, go here: http://code.google.com/p/browsersec/wiki/Main
Wanna know how your browser ticks security wise, visit above link,
I would prefer SRWare Iron to Google Chrome, it is the same without the Google privacy issues, and fine for what you wanna use it for. I actually write this posting using this browser, tested it here: at http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/ (0 issues) and to make it even better then Google Chrome it has an adblocker.ini you can insert in the browser folder, read and download here: http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php
What about Chromium?
I think Google Chrome is that much easy to install and use to be concerned with privacy (right now)…
Is it that dangerous? I mean, I’ve removed the option to send usage statistics… What Google is spying?
First a reaction to your reaction, indeed why not install Iron? Weighs as Chromium, runs like Chromium, has better adblocking protection as Chromium, and just does not have the Google tracking issues Chromium has. Download the latest version from SRWare and give this browser a swing, I am happy with it, and I do not like to see the old Chromium back on my machines.
Then Giorgio Maone’s reaction to the announcement (then) of the Browser Security Handbook, you can read as a comment via this link: http://googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.com/2008/12/announcing-browser-security-handbook.html
Have a good weekend bob, what is the temp there near Albuquerque now, and how does Santa react to that?
Do to other Google integration and update that I already have (toolbar, google desktop, etc.).
I’m not that worried about statistic collection, if any, by Google right now.
