I went to the link for Firefox https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460713 and was told I was unauthorized to access the bug. If I am not having any of the problems mentioned in the link, do I have to worry? ???

RoRo

Hi roro

All that means is you and me, most likely most forum members, guests will not be abled to view this site unless we have the appropriate permissions, and account to log in… So nothing to worry about.

This from time to time can be a hassle, with some security sites etc.

Hi Pete,
Are you saying that I should not worry about this bug as long as I haven’t seen any of the problems mentioned?
RoRo

Hi roro
My apologizes, i thought you were referring to the site itself.
The bugs that are being refered to is you have to check your browser against the list.
Read in the article about what browser you are using to find out what the problem that it may have etc

Firefox: Fixed in Firefox 3.0.5 and 2.0.0.19
Internet Explorer :No fix for IE5,IE6,IE7,IE8 until IE9

Hope you understand what i mean, i am pretty hopeless at times explaining things. Just read the article and it should answer your question
All the best pete

Thanks Pete,
You answered my question. I haven’t had any of the problems mentioned in the article, so No fix is necessary.

RoRo

You’re welcome

If it was fixed in FF 3.0.5, then it must be more “fixed” now since FF was upgraded to 3.5.1^^

Hi malware fighters,

This bug now has been fixed for Fx, SRWare’s Iron, GoogleChrome, Safari, Opera.
Still vulnerable : IE5, IE6, IE7, IE8, WII, PS3, Nokia, Blackberry, Konqueror…
POC can be found here: hxtp://www.crashthisthing.com/select.html
Clicking this could bring your browser to its knees if still vulnerable…

polonus

Thanks for the update polonus.
Out of curiosity… can any one tell me if we can expect more of these occurrences?

 Yes. From all of the browsers. New vulnerabilities are being discovered all the time. Most of them are kept secret until they’re fixed, but some of the browsers don’t report their vulnerabilities even after they’re fixed. Except for Firefox: in its release notes it reports all of the vulnerabilities that are fixed in each release.

@Alan Baxter^^

I guess its Pride thats making them hide those important things^^

At any rate, I LOVE FF as it reports anything it fixed!^^

What I meant is not if there will be new bugs in general, but bugs that like the one in this thread, will affect all the browsers at once.

So does Chrome, IE, Opera and Safari.
