BSOD after definition update 100203-1 ver 5.0.396 pro

I just got a blue screen on my machine just after the “Virus database has been updated” notification get done playing.

The summary and update tab shows definitions of 100203-0 when updating shows current version of 100203-1

Was the corresponding minidump file created? (in C:\Windows\Minidump folder)

I did see a minidump file was made with a bugcheck event log entry.

Here is the minidump file…

Renamed to TXT file

Renaming it to TXT file wasn’t a good idea, I’m afraid - the file was treated as a text file and corrupted during upload.
Could you please upload the original dump file to

ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming

Sure not a problem. I can do that.

I don’t see the file listed but I uploaded it as a dmp and zip

The problem should be pretty much solved with yesterday’s virus definition update. It is recommended to reboot the computer though as some of the changes may not become effective until that.

A more systematic fix will be included in the next program update, released for the first half of next week.

Thanks
Vlk

I agree. Other definition updates have installed fine and working since then.
