BSOD after update to 4.8.1367

Hello, I updated to the newest version of avast from 1358 or whatever was the previous version. Everything seemed to be running fine. I was doing the normal, running my 3 security programs : avast!, Threatfire 4.7 and PC Tools Firewall 6.0.0.84(Swapped from Outpost),MSN messenger and Steam.

I wen’t to one of my websites I usually go to (Which has known to have some malicious adds slip through sometimes as it is a FREE forum.) and all of the sudden I went to BSOD. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t malware related as I was on a non admin account using FF with noscript and request policy.

This is my first BSOD since using windows 7 64-bit.Mind you, I’m not sure this is at ALL related to avast, It may have been a coincidence, and in this case I’d appreciate it if someone could tell me the actual problem.

When trying to attach the minidump file I get a message saying it is too large, yet It wont accept .rar files or .zip. Is there another way I can send this?

Can you please upload the minidump to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming ?
Thanks.

Ok its called 1367BSOD.rar (Unless you don’t wan’t it in a .RAR file I can re-upload it) tell me if you got it.

I believe it should work in IE - open the URL ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming - you won’t see anything there because you don’t have rights to read/list the files - and drop the file there… or that’s what you tried?

Yeah, I was using FF. I tryed it on IE and it worked I think so I modifyed my post.

Yes, it’s there - thanks.

No problem ;D I hope it helps! I also hope you can tell me what happened

The dump is strange. I don’t see any connection with avast whatsoever… :-[
Is this the first time the computer has blue-screened?

Thanks
Vlk

Yes It is the very first time it Blue screened since I put Windows 7 64-bit on it (Complete wipe). Like I said, Im not sure it’s directly related to avast… I just found it a bit strange… Also IDK if this helps, But as an addition to my main post I was listening to Itunes Music.

P.S. After the Blue Screen I got a list of the reports from the “problem reporting” pop-up. So I’m pretty sure you are looking at the correct dump file

C:\Windows\Minidump\112509-17331-01.dmp
C:\Users\Justin\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-237168-0.sysdata.xml (Which isn’t there)
