Windows XP Home SP3
i would attach Crash Dump but your servers dont allow it.

What do you mean? Why wouldn’t it be possible pack your crashdump and upload it on our ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming ? Please, note that you won’t have READ access to the ftp server, just write - so you won’t even be able to see what you’ve just uploaded). You don’t need to login…
Thanks!
I see, how would I upload it? In my FTP software I need a username
user: anonymous
password: anything or optional email: a@a.eu
Ok thanks. its uploaded as: thomasbucrashdump.zip
It can also be found on my website
www.tombuo.com/thomasbucrashdump.zip
Looking at the dump and I’m not really sure if it was avast’s fault or not - minidump (64kb dump) contains only small portion of kernel data in order to claim that definitively. System crashed during PnP unmount request (can’t say if it was a USB or a HDD volume).
Please configure your computer for a kernel memory dump and write me if you get another BSOD; to enable kernel memory dumps, follow these steps:
Thanks.
alright, well lets hope it doesnt came back. Sorry thats all I can give you but it is now set to Kernel. Could you explain what a PNP umount request is? I might provide some clarification
Before your can begin accessing data stored on HDD or USB key, the logical volume must be mounted on the system. When you insert a USB key into your computer, OS will assign it a drive letter (e.g. “D:”) - it’s a mount process. When you unplug USB, OS will unmount D: from your system.
I did have an external HDD i unplugged, but I went to “Safely Remove Hardware” and stopped it first. And it was like 5 minutes before the BSOD so idk. Also during the BSOD a remote computer was restoring a HDD Image from my desktop onto its harddrive (In Acronis Home Boot DIsc). It was actually towards the end which really ticked me off. So, we’ll see
