aswstm.sys (Stream Filter, AVAST Software)

So I searched again for the error and stumbled on the AVAST forums where I found similar topics. So I installed “Avast Support System” as indicated on this page " https://support.avast.com/article/33/".
I followed the instructions. My first trial was met with an error "Impossible de générer le fichier. Error 12002 (Translated in english : Impossible to generate the file) , and I tried again a second time and a third time. And still the “error 12002” kept on showing up.

So I’m at loss now. I dont want the BSOD to appear frequently due to AVAST or any other program. I’m in the middle of doing my thesis and fortunatly I save my work and the important internet sites every half an hour (as you can see a lot of crash already happened on my PC, so I’m more cautious now), but it’s very frustrating.

Thanks in advance for your help

What OS ? What other security products are installed?
What AV did you use before Avast and how was it removed?

Hi, it’s fixed in the latest beta…

@ Asyn Avast Überevangelist
Thanks for you answer
I don’t know if I got it, but is the problem solved ? when you quoted " What was fixed : Fixed crash in network stream filter" , you meant the problem was solved ?

Thanks in advance

Asyn is quoting what was posted by an Avast employee.

You’re welcome. Update to the latest version (20.1.2397): https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=232420.0

@bob3160
Sorry it took me quite a bit of time to answer, with everything going on now.

What OS ? What other security products are installed?
I’m on Windows 10
None security products were installed, this a new computer, I’ve benn using it for 2 and half years
I installed AVAST on it since the beginning.

Thanks in advance
Best regards
NB : I had another crash yesterday, most probably it’s from AVAST, not sure because it’s not the same pattern as the one I had on February 22nd, trying to figure it out but if it’s the case and I’m gonna be putting a new post on it sooner or later
