Woke up this morning and turned my computer on. To my surprise my system crashed, giving me a BSOD. I was finally able to log in after a second attempt, opened BlueScreenView and received the following:
thanks for minidump. This bug was already fixed in the internal version – I’ve recompiled it against fixed version of the aswSP.sys driver, please follow these steps:
Copy .sys and .sys.sum to \Windows\System32\Drivers and \Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast\setup\inf folders (overwrite existing) [* or backup/rename original files]
Has there been an update to fix this? Or is the above the only solution as of yet?
I just recevied a BSOD today.
STOP 0x000000D1 (0x9DEC5CF0,0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x97291489)
aswSP.sys
See my other thread “aswSP.sys BSOD” started today for another BSOD related to aswSP.sys, it does not seem to be the same crash, at least not in the same part of the driver.
