BSOD comes back [Solved]

Back to topic please…
What should I install for antivirus? I don’t want to have unprotected PC… (even I don’t get any alert in my life)

  1. Well, give them some time to analyze it.
  2. OMG. ::slight_smile: >:(
  1. I though that you don’t know that I already sent them minidump. So I told you that already did about 4 hours ago…
  2. Do You like your god?
  3. On the 3x times - what antivirus should I install now?

Avast 5.1.xxx from FileHippo doesn’t work for you either? (Didn’t read the entire thread.) I still suspect the trouble comes from CIS. What did you install, Free or Pro/AIS? Sandbox/behaviour shield will conflict there w/ CIS.

Avast 6.0.1035 Free, Comodo Firewall + Defense+ with proactive virus defense. Never had BSOD with previous avast! 6.0 Before…
I can still roll back to 6.0.1022 (or how). This was no-problem.

Well, if that works for you, then no need to change your AV, I’d say?

That effectively installs the crappy CIS antivirus, as far as I can tell. Worse yet, it makes it active.

It didn’t install any antivirus… Only firewall but I have to setuped It to detect malicious software.
But in 6.0.1035 must be something changed… something that causes whole system crash. Or the new RC version just don’t like comodo

OK so I installed Avast! 6.0.1000.

I’ve already wrote danny96 email that explains the bug is caused by Comodo IS. So I don’t understand next 15+ posts here.

I still add new & new features even between two public builds. In 1035 build I included better win32k.sys & ntdll.dll hooking, however Comodo IS wasn’t expected such non-standard hooking variant (in fact, its component guard64.dll corrupted ntdll.dll file which led to wininit.exe crashes). I removed the problematic part, because we won’t wait than they’d fix it.

Haha, bingo… ;D

100% surely?

They’re not precisely quick in development ::slight_smile:

More people have problems with this version 6.0.1035

Especially with Comodo.

Yeah I will get rid of It and use only Windows Firewall (it’s the best firewall out there ;D)

Indeed, I think there are quite better firewalls than Windows one…
Difficult to configure, no outbound protection (by default), etc.

Is Outpost firewall better than Comodo? Has no compatibility issues with avast?

yes, 120%

hmm i got a little disappointed about comodo…i think i’m gonna give a try outpost too

Online Armour and Outpost Firewall Free are very good options
