Please, zip and upload the C:\Windows\Memory.dmp file to this anonymous ftp server and name it uniquely: ftp.avast.com/incoming. Avast will analyze it and respond back to you in this thread or to your email.
Please tell us why you are submitting a dump file? Do you have another thread relating to this (explain the BSOD a little more)?
Using Internet Explorer, Connect to the link and drag the file into the Right pane and drop it, that starts the upload, you don’t have read access to this folder.
Or
Upload it using the Run command-line in Windows: Windows Key + R (to get the run box), copy and paste this
explorer ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming
and drag the file into the window, from another explorer window.
How do I know if I uploaded successfully?I already used the second method and now I will try to upload it with the first method. The name of the file that I uploaded is “Minidump 2” Note:I sent the file with multiple times because I am afraid that I did not send it successfully. Please inform me if avast! never receives my file that I uploaded.Thanks.
But I already dragged the file to the windows and I saw a parameter was running that time and I just closed the windows after the parameter disappeared but I really don’t know whether those files already successfully submitted or not.
Yes, you can see that but you can’t see the result, e.g. your file in the avast.com/incoming location.
The actual size of the file and your upload connection speed would also give you a good idea if it had completed. But what it doesn’t give is an absolute confirmation that is has been received. For that you need other tools.
Get it and see (it is essentially like any other FTP program, but as a firefox add-on), as any explanation on how it works is likely to be long and off-topic.
You uploaded your dump file on May 20 and it is now the weekend. It is too soon to expect an answer. Avast will respond back in this thread when they have an answer for you. Thank you.
