BSOD on Startup with Avast 6.0

Did you check my new minidump files I posted on page 1, at the bottom?

Yes, but these dump files need to go directly to Avast. I will alert them another way since you cannot.

In the meantime, please try to view the links in another browser and let me know if you can view them.

I tried also with Opera and it does nothing with the link, it hangs.
With IE7 it says, “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”

Yes please alert them about. Even if it work, I still wouldn’t know how to zip them. lol

I alerted Avast, so you should hear something in the thread in the next day or so.

Have you kept your machine updated with MS/Windows Updates?

Yes. I also had IE8, but it was kind of buggy, so I went back to IE7.

I really appreciate your kind help on this matter.

How was it “buggy?” There are lots of security holes that were patched between IE 7- IE8.

Do you do MS/Windows Updates?

Some pages would hang and to me it was kind of slower. But, I guess I will try it again
Yes, I always do MS Windows Updates.

OK. You can work on that while we wait for Avast’s response.

FYI - when you reach 20 posts, you can add your Signature to your Profile.

  • Go to PROFILE on the top of the main forum page > Modify Profile > Forum Profile Information > Signature. Enter information about your system like the Operating System (OS), RAM, browser, security software, what version and product of Avast and firewall you use and other items you wish to mention. See my signature or others as an example. The purpose of this is so that we can offer pertinent advice. Thank you.

I will do my sig later today. I got to go to sleep, it’s 3:00 am where I am in the Midwest. I will talk to you later today. Again, TYSM for your kind help. TC

You’re welcome. Goodnight.
