How and where do I send the minidumps?
You can send minidumps/fulldumps to Avast via their FTP server.
ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/
I have the minidumps ready, how do I upload to their FTP server?
You need FTP client I use Filezilla
http://www.filehippo.com/download_filezilla/
Well you can send only mini dump and full dump files to Avast via FTP or if you wish you can create Supportpackage,it,s up to you.
PS:Add mini/full to zip,rar file and rename it with unique name: “your Avast nickname BSOD…”
Or, you can open the URL (ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming) in Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), and after it connects, drag&drop the files into the lower pane of the Explorer window.
Thanks! Already sent the minidumps.
If you give the dump zip file name you uploaded they can look for it in regard to this topic.
Renamed the zip file to the name of this topic!
Thanks for your dump – this BSOD was caused by 7.0.1474.765 version, please update to 8.x, because this bug was already fixed. Thanks.
Hi pk, if you consider this topic title, the BSOD happened when updating to avast 8, so it is a bit chicken and egg suggesting the OP update to avast 8 ?

I would suggest that you try a clean reinstall (assumes you are using avast free):
Download the latest version of avast, 8.0.1482 http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again (if you didn’t save your last download). Use that when you reinstall.
Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, aswClear.exe (see #### below) and save it to your HDD (it has uninstall tools for all versions).
Thanks DavidR.
I too was experiencing the BSOD with Avast when I updated to v8, but after following your instructions every thing is back to normal. If anyone else is having this problem I can highly recommend DavidR’s advice.
Thanks again.
You’re welcome, glad that everything is now working as it should.
