BSOD

HI,

I have been experiencing a very slow computer and the dreaded BSOD at least 6 times in the last week or so. Mostly comes up when I am trying to install a program. Example: I am trying to install Avast Internet Security (which I purchased) but when I get to the quick scan part it crashes my computer. It also happened when trying to install MBAM & SAS but eventually got them installed. I ran all the logs just to make sure everything is okay. I have attached below.

Cheers,
Janice

i see files from agnitum / kaspersky / McAfee in there…

i recomend cleaning out any leftover files from security programs that may conflict and try again

Uninstallers – Security Software. http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/

I have taken Kaspersky off my computer, Agnitum is Outpost Firewall and McAfee is Site Advisor both of which I run.

Hi,

So is everything okay with the logs I provided?

Thanks,
Janice

I can see no sign of malware at this stage… What are your current problems after removing Kaspersky ?

HI,

Well I’m still running slow but I think otherwise okay. While trying to download AIS (which I was having problems with, thread in another topic in the forum) it crashes everytime I do this. I have it installed now and will leave it all alone for now. So I think I’m good to go. Thanks!

Janice

Run this small programme to empty the temp files

Clear Cache/Temp Files
Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop

[*] Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
[*]It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
[*]Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
[*]Once it’s finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

HI,

Okay ran as suggested.

Cheers,
Janice
