Buffer overrun detected Program: C\Program Files\Belkin/F5D8001v1\Belkinwcui.exe

Can anyone help?
I have run a full scan, archives too, no virus detected.
A bunch of files that could not be scanned because they are password protected. That seems odd to me since I am the system Admin. Everything I find about “Buffer overrun” is old. My system is up to date with all Widows / Microsoft, Avast, Java, Direct X, Belkin ect, ect,Do not know what to do at this point. This is what the MSG says:

X in red

Buffer overrun detected

Program: C\Program Files\Belkin/F5D8001v1\Belkinwcui.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the programme Internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.

OK is the only option.

So can anyone please help?

avast can’t scan files that are password protected, it doesn’t know the password.
There are many legitimate reasons why a file was password protected. For instance, the ones you’re talking about. Lavasoft stores its data in a password-protected ZIP archives (to prevent other similar tools from messing up with them). It’s really nothing to worry about - it’s normal.

Many programs (usually security based ones) password protect their files for legitimate reasons such as AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy, there are others (and avast doesn’t know the password or have any way of using it even if it did know it). Do you use any other security based programs ?

Maybe you can create a dump. Vlk explains how to create a dump file here:
